Bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in the agricultural industry, Mr. Dhammika Rupasinghe possesses a profound understanding of its intricacies and challenges. Throughout his career, he has held significant roles at renowned organizations, contributing to the development and commercialization of cutting-edge agricultural products.
During his time at CIC as the Product Manager for Syngenta, Mr. Rupasinghe refined his expertise in product management and market strategy over a five-year period. Following this, he served as the General Manager & Director of Commercial Affairs at IPMP for over two decades, where he led numerous successful initiatives, overseeing the registration and market development of pioneering products. Under his leadership, the company achieved market leadership, successfully competing with industry giants.
Beyond his corporate roles, Mr. Rupasinghe has actively advocated for the industry and provided leadership. He dedicated several years to CropLife Sri Lanka, serving as Chairman in 2009 and 2010, and as Secretary in 2007 and 2008. As an Executive Committee member from 2004 to 2015, he played a crucial role in shaping policies and initiatives for agricultural advancement. His commitment to professional development is evident through his membership in the Sri Lanka Institute of Agriculture.
Mr. Rupasinghe earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Peradeniya, providing him with a strong foundation in agricultural sciences. Complementing his technical background, he pursued a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colombo, equipping him with strategic management skills vital for navigating the industry’s complexities.

Suresh Fernando

Mr. Suresh Fernando is a highly experienced leader with over 15 years in the agricultural industry, recognized for his innovative strategies and dynamic leadership. Throughout his career, he has held key positions in prestigious organizations, consistently driving growth and pioneering advancements in the field.
At Lankem Ceylon PLC, Mr. Fernando was the Research & Development Manager for 7 years. During this time, he achieved notable success by securing registrations for groundbreaking herbicides and insecticides from leading Japanese manufacturers and DuPont USA. His contributions significantly expanded the company’s product portfolio and enhanced its competitiveness in the market.
Transitioning to IPMP, representing FMC USA, Mr. Fernando excelled as the Marketing Manager for 6 years. His strategic foresight and deep market understanding were instrumental in the development and successful launch of market-leading products, elevating the company’s standing within the industry.
During his tenure as General Manager at Hayleys Agriculture Holdings Ltd for 3 years, Mr. Fernando effectively led sales and marketing efforts in the Crop Protection and Planting Material Business sectors, guiding the company to achieve market leadership.
Beyond his corporate roles, Mr. Fernando has actively participated in industry advocacy through CropLife Sri Lanka. Serving as Chairman in 2020 and Secretary in 2018 and 2019, he played a crucial role in steering the association towards its objectives. Additionally, he chaired the Technical Committee in 2017 and 2022 and served as an Executive Committee Member from 2016 to 2023.
Mr. Fernando holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Peradeniya, Faculty of Agriculture, and a Master of Science degree from the Post Graduate Institute of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. His academic excellence and extensive industry experience equip him with a deep understanding of agricultural sciences and strategic insights essential for driving innovation and growth in the sector.
